Sometimes, we don’t eat the necessary foods to give us all the nutrients we need. It could be the options around work are limited, we don’t buy the right things from the grocery store, or we run around with so much to do that we forget to eat. We don’t cook enough vegetables or eat enough fruit and it makes a big difference. High quality vitamins supplement your diet and give you the nutrients you are missing in a much easier way. All you have to do is remember to take them once a day, that’s it. No worrying about what to cook for dinner and no trying to fit in an extra apple when you aren’t even hungry.

Of course, it’s still important to try to get these vitamins from natural sources, but high quality vitamins are going to make things a bit easier. After a couple of weeks of taking them regularly, you’ll feel the difference. You’ll feel like you have more energy, your thoughts will seem clearly, your body a bit stronger. Over all you are going to feel really good in a way you didn’t realize you could.

It’s easy to find multi-vitamins or specific vitamins for whatever it is you are missing in your diet. It’s as simple as swallowing it with a glass of water to make your body that much healthier.

When it comes to heart health, it’s important to watch your cholesterol.  High cholesterol can occur from a number of things, whether it is a poor diet or genetic predisposition. It’s the biggest risk factor for heart disease and stroke, so it’s important that you keep it in check with a low cholesterol diet. But when that isn’t helping on its own, you can look into vitamins and supplements that will help you lower cholesterol naturally.

B-complex vitamins and omega 3 fish oil are two supplements that have had some results in lowering bad cholesterol and helping to raise good cholesterol. Taking them daily can help lower bad cholesterol over time and keep it low.  Of course, seeing your doctor regularly for cholesterol and blood pressure checks is a must, as you can’t just assume that the supplements are working. A doctor can also guide you on what the best steps are to take, in addition to your supplements, based on the type of lifestyle you already currently have.

Take the steps towards better heart health and you’ll live a longer, healthier life, without the fear of heart disease or stroke.

It’s that time of year, the dreaded winter where everyone gets sick. It just happens, right? There’s no need to fight it because you can’t escape it. Well, that isn’t true at all! Instead, take that negative thinking and turn it around this year. Instead of being convinced you are going to get sick no matter what, take an omega 3 supplement to boost your immune system. Sometimes our bodies need a bit of help to get safely through the months of bronchitis, the flu, and other icky germs that get passed easily in the cold weather.

And an omega 3 supplement can be beneficial in more ways than just warding off sickness, but it’s also been shown to help prevent the likelihood of cancer. So from the smallest of illnesses to the largest, it’s a seriously great thing to have in your body.

Beat the common cold and the big flu this winter. People will be amazed at how you didn’t get sick at all in this cold climate and you can tell them why. Because you took the steps to boost your immune system so it can work to its optimal performance. And then you can recommend omega 3 to them as well, so they’ll be ready to fight off the germs!

I hate fish. Okay, maybe that is a harsh statement. But I’m not a fan of anything from under the sea unless it’s shellfish. Salmon, flounder, or bass, I don’t like it. The problem is, fish has a very high source of Omega 3, iron, Vitamin D, protein, and more great vitamins that we need to keep our bodies going. I know it should be a part of everyone’s healthy diet, but I can’t bring myself to like the taste or texture. So my dad told me about Omega 3 fish oil pills. He told me that I can pretty much get a great dose of Omega 3 that way without having to deal with smelly  fish.

They’ve become a part of my daily routine and I don’t taste a thing when I drink some water with them. I feel a lot better about putting something healthy in my  body without having to deal with the taste of something I don’t like.

The great thing about Omega 3 fish oil pills is that you can find them in large bottles for a great deal, if you know where to look.  They should be in everybody’s home for the whole family to get the supplements they need to lead healthier lives.

Vitamin D supplements are important and should be a staple in your home. We all know we should take them, but truth be told, most people don’t know why. They aren’t aware of the specific benefits, just that it’s good for us. Well, before you take your next vitamin D pill, here’s a list of what benefits they are giving your body:

  • Helps to maintain the health of bones.
  • It helps to regulate the immune system, meaning you’ll be fighting off infection much better.
  • It may reduce the risk of multiple sclerosis.
  • It can also reduce the severity of asthma, so it’s great for any one who suffers from it.
  • It reduces the risk of rheumatoid arthritis in women.
  • Studies have shown that those with adequate vitamin D have a significantly lower risk of developing cancer.

For all these reasons, and more, vitamin D supplements should be a part of your daily regimen. Take it with your orange juice in the morning, or lunch at work in the afternoon. However you want to fit it in, make it part of your day. Your body will thank you for taking such good care of it!

I looked out the window yesterday evening right before I left work. I had been meaning to check if it was raining but to my surprise I couldn’t tell! I couldn’t tell because it was so dark outside. I looked at the clock hoping I hadn’t stayed too late but my computer’s clock read 4:45pm. The sun is going down much earlier than I’m used to.

With the days getting shorter, some people experience a phenomenon called Seasonal Affective Disorder. Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD is a bout of depression that happens at a specific time of year and has been linked directly to the lack of sunlight. Sunlight provides the body with the necessary vitamin d that it needs to thrive. Since it is found in very few foods, most people need to take vitamin d supplements.

It seems logical that if the sun provides vitamin D and when you don’t get enough sun you are prone to SAD, that vitamin D may relieve some symptoms of this disorder. While doctors usually provide light therapy that uses a special kind of lamp to give off vitamin D rays, they are also suggesting that patients begin taking high quality vitamin D3 supplements to help with the affects of the depression.

In these days of shorter sunshine, if you’re beginning to feel a little sad and mopey, perhaps it’s time to add vitamin D to your supplement list so you can start feeling better!

There is nothing less attractive than a burp. Well, almost nothing. What about a burp that smells and tastes like fish? I bet you just recoiled from your computer screen a little didn’t you? It’s a very unpleasant thought. It’s precisely this thought, and the repulsiveness of it, that causes people to avoid taking omega 3 fish oil supplements. But they’re so good for your brain function that you shouldn’t go without them just because you’re afraid of that fishy taste. Here are some tips to avoiding that horrible fish burp.

First of all, you can take your omega 3 supplement right before a meal. That way the fish oil will mix with the other food in your stomach and hopefully cover up that fishy taste!

You can also freeze your supplements to slow the breakdown of the fish oil in your stomach. The omega 3 fatty acids will still be digested and absorbed into your system even if the pill is frozen. Plus, it might make it easier to swallow.

There’s always the option of purchasing an odorless fish oil supplement. They do sell these in the stores with the other supplements and while they’re a little pricier, they may help you get through the day fish breath free.

Don’t stop taking your fish oil supplement just because you don’t like the fishy taste, there are ways to get around that taste and the dreaded fish burp.

vitamins and supplementsIt’s important to eat lots of vegetables and fruits. About five servings per day. Many people eat fruits, such as an apple, and forget their veggies thinking that they have done their good deed for the day. Alas, they are only getting some of the necessary vitamins and minerals they need to be healthy. Even if they don’t like vegetables, there are other ways to get those vitamins.

Sure there’s veggie juice and veggie chips, but some people don’t like colorful foods at all. For them, it’s important to take vitamins and supplements. Take a look at your diet. Think about what you lack. Then consider taking vitamins for those specific vitamins. A multivitamin works well, but often you already get a daily supply of calcium and Vitamin C. Look at your health. Are you nails ugly? Vitamin E supplements may be the right decision. Hate carrots and leafy greens? Vitamin A it is! Haven’t been getting much sun and feeling down as a result? Try Vitamin D supplements!

And the list goes on. If you have any specific questions you can find the answers online, and then proceed to buy the according supplement. Don’t skimp either. High quality vitamins make all the difference in your healthy.

Unless you happen to be a vampire, you probably have a few cloves of garlic in your kitchen pantry. But did you know that you can do more than just make spaghetti sauce and ward off Dracula with that garlic? Studies have shown that you can actually use garlic supplements to lower cholesterol naturally.

Over the past few years, scientists and doctors have worked to find better and more natural ways to bring down what they call “bad cholesterol” while maintaining the “good cholesterol.” A new generation of holistic medicine and a rise of a natural medicine movement have brought about some interesting ways to do so.

Garlic was the first and still most widely accepted and used method of cholesterol control but, just like any medication it has its drawbacks. The supplement can cause bad breath and body odor which, while keeping you safe from those pesky vampires, will not endear you to your co-workers or dinner guests.

You could try artichoke extract which lowers the body’s bad cholesterol while leaving the good stuff behind. But beware artichoke extract can cause an allergic reaction or gas which, again, will not make that first date very comfortable.

The newest way to lower your cholesterol has absolutely no side effects whatsoever. Try putting adding barley to your diet. Doctors claim that this will lower total cholesterol and won’t send your friends running for the door.
